4 Arrested for stealing Rs 56,000 at gunpoint from financial company in Delhi

Four men have been arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 56,000 from a non-bank financial company in the Preet Vihar area of ​​east Delhi, police said on Friday.

The defendants were identified as Amir, Talib and Tripesh Kumar alias Parvesh, all residents of Uttar Pradesh, and Sirajuddin alias Siraj, a resident of Khureji Khas in Delhi, they said.

A case was filed at Preet Vihar police station on Tuesday based on a complaint that four robbers entered the branch of a financial company in Vikas Marg at around 10.30 a.m. and stole 56,000 rupees under the threat of a weapon, said a senior police officer.

The accused also attempted to steal gold items from the vault as they had snatched the keys to the safe from the staff, but the branch manager pressed the security key fob, which was kept in his poached. The security alarm went off and began ringing loudly and the accused fled the scene, the officer said.

On Thursday, the police were informed that two criminals Amir and Talib, who were involved in the robbery, would approach AIIMS via Barrarpulla to commit a crime. A trap was set at the Barrapullah Loop towards AIIMS and at around 7:40 p.m. two suspects were apprehended, Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime) Rajesh Deo said.

They revealed that the mastermind of the robbery was Sirajuddin who planned and provided arms and ammunition. They further stated that a certain Parvesh was also involved in the theft, DCP said.

Later raids were carried out and Sirajuddin and Tripesh Kumar alias Parvesh were arrested on Friday, Mr Deo said.

Three domestically-made guns along with eight live cartridges, two stolen motorcycles used in the crime, two stolen cellphones and a toy gun were found in their possession, police said.

Aamir was a driver and Talib a construction worker, police said.
