After CBI raid on Sisodia’s house, Delhi government transfers 12 IAS officers

In a bureaucratic shuffle, a dozen IAS officers were moved between departments on Friday, hours after a CBI raid on the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as part of the policy of Delhi Excise.

According to a transfer order issued by the Delhi Government Service Department, those transferred include Special Secretary for Health and Family Welfare Udit Prakash Rai, a 2007 IAS officer from the AGMUT cadre.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena had recently recommended the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to take action against Rai for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50 lakh to bestow ‘undue favours’ to a senior engineer in two corruption cases.

Sonal Swaroop, an officer in the 2012 batch, has been appointed special secretary to the lieutenant governor. She has been appointed as an additional commissioner to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, according to the order.
