MILWAUKEE – Lacrosse player men Jacob Hallam is the Baird Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for November 2021, as selected by Marquette Athletics varsity and student program staff.
Hallam is a fifth-year senior who in May 2021 graduated with a Bachelor of Finance from the College of Business Administration, where he was on the Dean’s List, and the Director of Athletic Honor Roll. Currently, he is pursuing his MBA, focusing on finance.
Hallam is a team representative at SAAC for men’s lacrosse, focusing on community events. Most recently, he helped coordinate the SAAC event by collecting food and clothing donations for distribution to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission ahead of the Thanksgiving vacation.
The Centennial, Colorado native has also worked locally and in his home state on events that provide access to young athletes of varying abilities. In high school, he and four friends founded a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit serving athletes with disabilities, which included camps and fundraising for donated equipment. The idea arose out of a conversation with the mother of a disabled fan who loved lacrosse but didn’t have access to a team or organization. Since then, Hallam has also participated in and coached wheelchair lacrosse tournaments with various organizations, raising the profile of the sport to include adapted sports programs.
In addition to his community work, last summer Hallam completed a financial analyst internship in Chicago.
He’s a short-stick defensive midfielder who appeared in 12 games last spring, registering a pair of assists as well as 20 rushing balls and 10 induced turnovers.
