Virtual wine festival

The Rotary Club of Los Gatos is bringing back its virtual WineFest & Auction, which began last year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event allows participants to try a wine tour while being guided by a guest sommelier. There will also be music and a live auction during the event.

The event will take place via Zoom on Saturday, January 29, 507 a.m. To register and reserve a wine tasting kit for $ 150, visit www.losgatosrotary.org. All proceeds will go to the organization’s charitable fund.

Basic event

Grassroots Ecology is hosting a volunteer event at Bear Creek Redwoods Preserve, 18728 Bear Creek Road, on December 31, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers will be tasked with removing an invasive species to help protect the wetland, and organizers note that the task is somewhat physical demanding. Participants will be required to wear masks and adhere to COVID-19 security protocols.
