New York court suspends Rudy Giuliani’s attorney’s license

NEW YORK (AP) – Appeals court has suspended Rudy Giuliani from practicing law in New York because they say he made false statements trying to get courts to overturn defeat of Donald Trump in the presidential race.

The court found that Giuliani – who is the former personal lawyer for ex-President Donald Trump – violated the lawyer code of conduct by making false statements to courts, the public and lawmakers as he advanced claims theories that the election was stolen by fraud. Thursday’s ruling will prevent Giuliani from representing his clients as a lawyer.

Giuliani’s lawyers have vowed to challenge the suspension. They said they were confident his license would be reinstated.

Speaking of the presidential election challenge, Michigan Senate Republicans who investigated the state’s presidential election said there was no widespread or systemic fraud. In a report released Wednesday, they also urge the state attorney general to consider investigating people who made false allegations about the results in County Antrim to raise funds or advertise “theirs. own purposes ”.

The GOP-led State Senate Oversight Committee said citizens should be confident that the result represents “the real results.” Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump by about 155,000 votes, or 2.8 percentage points, in the state of the battlefield.

Back in Giuliani, he and his attorneys will be able to point out documents seized from him during the late April raids will be reviewed by a court-appointed expert examiner to determine what should never be seen by federal prosecutors. Investigators are investigating Giuliani’s interactions with prominent Ukrainian figures to see if he broke a law governing lobbying on behalf of foreign countries or entities.

Barbara Jones has been appointed expert reviewer or “special master” in the case. She said in her first report to a federal judge on Wednesday that she would review “potentially privileged documents” chosen by Giuliani’s lawyers.
